The Good Judge RIP

Nathaniel R. Jones, a former chief legal spokesman for the civil rights movement and later a federal appeals court judge who devoted his long career to eradicating the legacy of slavery endured by his own family, died on Jan. 26 at his home in Cincinnati. He was 93.

Stephanie Jones (RHS 1977), his daughter, said the cause was congestive heart failure.

Jones, retired Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals judge, former NAACP general counsel, and lifelong champion in the fight to end racial discrimination in America. The "Good Judge" is Founder and Chairman. While Stephanie Jones, RHS class of 1977, is President.
